Lovely Words

Sometimes, just words make me smile. Make my day... I dare you to submit your favorite quotes to me. Not only are they uplifting and inspiring, but they surround you with positive thoughts.

Have a lovely night lovers.

Fashion Focus: Olivia Palermo

I know she may not be the nicest girl on the planet, but that's why I love her. Olivia Palermo, one of the stars of the MTV show, "The City" epitomizes fashion. It does not matter what she wears, she wears it well. I would d-i-e if I was able to browse through her closet. Her hair is impeccable, her apartment is decorated to perfection, her taste in clothing is on point.... what does this girl not have going for her?

Wanted: Boyfriend Blazer

I have been searching for the perfect boyfriend blazer for almost a year and I have yet to find one (insert sad face). I was pleased to see that the boyfriend blazer is still in style for Spring and Summer though, and all that means to me is that I really NEED to find myself one! I love the whole masculine meets feminine look, do you? If any of you know of a cute boyfriend blazer, preferably priced below $150.00, that is cut to fit a bit snug... holla atcha girl.

Miracles can happen

I know that I often praise certain beauty products, but I cannot emphasize enough how much I am addicted to these two products. I'm 28 years old and after plenty of years spent in the sun (thanks Mom & Dad for living in Florida, just kidding) I realize that I don't want to face the reality of that damage. My girlfriends and I have been discussing aging lately, and to be honest with you all.... it scares me.

I have always been a fan of the brand Philosophy and all of their products, so when I stumbled upon these two miracle working products, I was sold! The Miracle Worker is just that... a miracle worker-I promise you. I have been using the pads for about two weeks now and I see a significant difference in my overall appearance of my skin. My face brighter; not dull what so ever, the tone is more evened out and the appearance of my laugh lines are diminishing. Now, you can only purchase this product (The Miracle Worker) @ Sephora and it will put you back $70.00 plus tax.

Another product that I am hooked on is Help Me by Philosophy. This amazing product will put you back $45.00, but that will be the BEST $45.00 you will ever spend. I use the Miracle Worker first and let the oils soak into my skin and then I follow it up by a dab of Help Me. Help Me is a retinol cream and it's fantastic. Like I said previously, I don't want to face the reality of aging, so both of these products are helping me stop the aging process.

I swear by these two products and wanted to share this with you all. In case any of you are in the same boat as myself and my friends, please give these two a try. Seriously, they work miracles (no pun intended)........

The Look Book

Apparently we can all rest assured that the skinny jean/legging trend will remain throughout Spring and Summer 2010. I am a lover of the rocker chic look, but for some reason I only love it for the Fall and Winter months (William Rast & Helmut Lang: above). With the warm months approaching quickly I am beyond excited for the gorgeous prints, flowing dresses, mini-dresses and flirty skirts (thank you Prada: above). Boyshorts are also on the rise, which is fantastic for me since I reside in Florida. The warrior look is still in full force, SO bring on the gladiator sandals.

All this means to me is that I am going to have to go buy a brand new wardrobe. Of course, I have some things that I will be wearing, but new items are always fun to find. I am so thankful that I love fashion.

hair, there & everywhere

I have been rockin' the braided look for quite some time now, especially right after a long day at the beach, but Fashion Week 2010 was full of this 'do. You can only imagine how delighted I was to see that this "Bohemian meets Molly the Milkmaid" look is back in full force for Spring 2010. With the off center part and loads of texture, these braided looks are incredibly gorgeous, whimsical and easy to do! Another trend that I spotted (and yet, another one of my favorites) was the bed head look. You know, "Oh, I just rolled out of bed. Look at how perfectly imperfect my hair looks."Another hair 'do with lots of texture, loose waves and a bit of messiness. These two ever-so popular looks were showcased up and down the runways and guess what?..........I am beyond in love with both of them.

Below are a few of my favorite shots from Fashion Week courteous of Fashionising.

Stylish Street

I often find myself enthralled with this web site and the distinct style of each of the subjects photographed. It amazes me how each girl and guy has such fantastic taste when it comes to clothing, so it was near impossible for me to narrow down my top inspirational choices for the day. It's all about the details: the hair, scarves, sunnies, satchels, jackets and jewelry. It makes me wonder whether these people actually have anything in their closet that they don't wear? I would love to be able to dress it up like this on a daily basis and prance around the streets of my city looking fabulous.

If you haven't been here already, I highly recommend you hightail it over to Stockholm Street Style and become engrossed in their fashion choices. Become a huge fan, as am I. Get inspired and have a lovely Monday.

Cleansing House

This is not your typical master cleanse or no food cleanse, this is just a complete body cleanse. I have been known to cleanse my body every so often (roughly about twice a year) in attempts to rid my body of all the disgusting toxins I consume on a daily basis. Upon hearing the praises of this cleanse from my friend CiCi, it should be no surprise...I ran off to Whole Foods to purchase the kit last night. 365 Everyday Value is the actual Whole Foods brand and can be purchased at any Whole Foods Market nationwide. The price of the kit is $16.99, which I believe is extremely reasonable.

This cleanse is a two week regime that consists of you taking pills in the morning and the evening. I have done the Blueprint Cleanse and honestly, I saw no results. I craved food the entire time and was just miserable. Now, I am only on day one of this cleanse SO, I will have to update you every few days and let you all know how it's working.

Have you all ever done a cleanse?

Mantra of Mine

one of my favorite lines from Real Love by The Beatles

Suits you well

I grew up in Florida, so the beach is my playground and the sun is my dear friend. Every year when spring/summer approaches I diligently dig through my selection of bikinis and come to the realization that I want new ones! YES, I own over 30 bikinis and YES, I have worn them numerous times. It doesn't matter how many cute little two pieces I own, I seem to always crave new ones. My go-to shop for great priced bikinis is Victoria's Secret and here are a few of my choices that are currently in my shopping bag......

Maybe I have a slight problem when it comes to bikini purchases, but every girl has her weakness (apparently we all know what mine just so happens to be). SPF is a must have whenever I am out in the sun, whether it be on a boat or at the pool, and I usually slather SPF 30 on. Now, let's just pray that this cold weather garbage stops soon (I live in Florida and it's in the 30's every night) so that I am able to enjoy the gorgeous sun!

Yes. We're going to a party.

Happy Birthday to ME. Happy Birthday to ME. Happy Birthday dear Kristinnnnnnn......
Happy Birthday to ME!

Today marks my 28th year of existence AND it feels fabulous. I spent yesterday and today with a few of my great friends. We enjoyed a little bit of a shopping extravaganza followed up by a delicious dinner of sushi. A morning spent stuffing my mouth with chocolate chip pancakes, scrambled eggs and cup after cup of coffee. And a night chock full of dancing our booties off, sipping martinis and laughing non-stop. This was one of my best birthdays yet and I am so thankful for all the great times I have had over the past two days. PICTURES ARE TO FOLLOW SHORTLY. Next on my agenda: home to spend some quality time with my family. This is just a fabulous birthday and I am happier than happy. Hope you all are enjoying my birthday weekend and just loving life, as usual.

All the x's and o's you could possibly ever wish for........

Love speaks

I am a firm believer in telling people what you think; whether that be your opinion on their choice of clothing, your political choices or your feelings towards them. After watching the cutest movie EVER (and I truly do mean "EVER") Valentine's Day, it really got my brain working.

When should you tell someone you love them?

I know that when it comes to the wonderful world of dating (oh, dreadful), there is always that question. "Oh goodness, I love him but, should I tell him?" Or "I feel like I'm falling in love with him." Wowzers. Well, my question to you all is, "I love this person and they did know at one time, but should I tell them again?" Do you think that you should always express your feelings towards a person, whether those feelings be good or bad? Should you tell someone you love them, even if you expect them not to say it back? Should you confess your true feelings regardless of the outcome? So many questions and yet the answer still remains floating out there in the universe somewhere.

I think you should express your thoughts and feelings towards someone, regardless. I know that means you are really setting yourself up for a letdown, but if you don't do it, you may live to regret it. I am just curious as to what you all think about this question. Would love to hear what you think:

when it comes to matters of the heart...
do you tell someone you love them,
or do you keep it to yourself?

Pillows & Pills

With my 5:45 a.m. wake-up quickly approaching, I think it's time to say good night to you all. I hope your Tuesday was as great as your Monday and as perfect as your Sunday! I spent my entire day on an airplane scooting between Washington D.C. and Pittsburgh, so I am exhausted. Ready to catch some zzz's, but my nose is rather stuffy (I cannot shake this cold) and it's annoying me, so I figured I'd squeeze a late night post in there.

favorite text message of the day: "I think I am being serious when I tell you that I am ready to get back together with you." WHHAATT?? You gotta love your ex-boyfriends! Are they as special as mine?

favorite moment of the day: "If I get pulled over and say just drank some NyQuil, will that possibly show up in a DUI test?" I absolutely love moments like these where I feel like the BIGGEST airhead in the universe!

Lack of sleep really catches up to you. Hilarious. Anyhow, have a glamorous and fun evening/morning everyone.

loving this book right this moment: "The Last Song," by Nicholas Sparks

I am not a huge fan of felines, but these two are too adorable for words.

Have a Happy Monday.

What I'm up to:
Watching "The Bachelor" and trying to update my blog.

Love stories...

Just adore this sign.

Finished up reading "Dear John" and to be honest, I was not too happy about the ending. A few of my girlfriends went and saw the movie and apparently are not too pleased with the ending. In other words: the book and the movie must be really similar. I am about to embark into "The Last Song," by Nicholas Sparks (I love love stories). Speaking of real life love stories, my BFFL, Renee has one of her own. Her love story is how "Dear John" should have been, but it should be called "Dear Bracy."

They met years ago (in middle school; circa 1993) and started a brief relationship that ended because Renee's family moved to Sarasota in 1996. Fast forward 13 years. They reconnect and are truly, madly, deeply in love with each other. Bracy is in the army and as of right now, is in Africa. He just left last month and will not be back until May/June.

She should write a book about their amazing relationship. Not only are they the most gorgeous couple you'll ever see, but they are just perfect for each other. I'm so happy for her! She deserves it.

Nothing beats a "real" love story....

Happy Valentine's Day Lovebugs!

With Valentine's being today, this post may be a bit last minute, but I figured maybe you could stash these recipes for next year. I am all about making "cute, cheesy" baked goods; see my post here, so I decided to share some more recipes with everyone. These delicious little treats can be baked on any "special" day; anniversaries, birthdays, etc. If you are anything like me, then these recipes will fit the bill. Enjoy and let me know if you actually try them out.

Nothing gets my heart going like some heart shaped treats! Hope you all have a lovely, lovely, lovely Valentine's Day!

The Daily Love

I am randomly bombarded with relationship questions from my friends on a daily basis.

I, by no means, proclaim that I am the "Queen of Advice" or that I have any right to be forking out advice to anyone (as I have had my fair share of love troubles). For some odd reason though, my friends believe that I am the best at dishing the words.

With Valentine's Day quickly approaching (umm, hello, tomorrow) I have to question whether I ever follow my own advice? I have just started to actually listen to wise words that I spill to others. I have been on this amazing "positive" kick lately and thought maybe some of you would enjoy this web site: The Daily Love (which is full of wonderful quotes to lift your spirit). I have decided to blog about some of my friends and my own "relationship" troubles and would love it if any of you had some similar stories to share.

Check back later for details....

A look inside...

There are a few things of mine that I absolutely love and probably would not want to live without. Of course these are all things I would "need" not "want" to live with, and I am lucky enough to own them right now. I am such a sucker for all things extra girly (perfume, facial products, makeup, etc.) and I currently am loving: Stella by Stella McCartney, Flowerbomb by Viktor Rolf and Coco Chanel Mademoiselle. I receive loads of compliments whenever I wear any of these babies! I love them all equally. I also am currently loving anything by Philosophy. My current loves: Microdelivery Peel and Hope in a Jar.

Next, on to my favorite cause: FEED Project and my amazing bags!

I have been actively involved with this cause for years now and I am so proud to represent my love for it.  The bags are able to be used every single day and they are just roomy enough to tote beach essentials in. My absolute must have bag is my L.A.M.B by Gwen Stefani. I received my gorgeous black leather bag as a gift for my 26th birthday and I continue to rock it out all the time. If I could have counted the number of compliments I received about this bag, I'd be lost! That bag I wear every day and I usually toss my Blackberry in there, my Abas wallet clutch, my sunnies and whatever else I desire.

There you have it. A little glimpse into my favorite things.
