DIY: beaded necklace

Crafty Wednesday came and went so quickly....

Today's agenda was to follow suit and attempt to re-create Maegan's of Love Maegan: DIY post.

So, let's get this party started; oh, on a side note: you should never, ever use spray paint when it is extra windy and really not sure of which way the wind is blowing. You'll end up looking like a tacky gold disco ball with predominately gold tipped fingers (that's in style & cool though, right).

The supplies:

2 Blocks of styrofoam. 1 Pair of scissors. 3 Cans of spray paint ( gold, black and silver). A bunch of paper clips. Some black ribbon & a GREAT attitude!

Depending on how long you want your necklace to be (mine: 10 large balls, 10 medium balls & 10 small balls), place each of these wooden balls on top of the paper clips.

Round One: The gold ones (this is just about the time where everything went downhill; disco diva here we come).

Round Two: The black ones (I must admit to you all that I am favoring the black ones, without a doubt).

The final product.

Not to toot my own horn, but they came out really, really good (I am kind of in shock). The gold one looks great on, I might just be wearing it this weekend. Which reminds me: I may be absent for a few days {insert sad face}. I have a very good, fabulous, selfish excuse: Off to Chicago with the girls for a few days of fun (sipping lots of wine, shopping, dinners, power hour {not the alcoholic version, but rather the game board version; Scattergories here we come}, busting out the old school Nintendo {YES, Paperboy, Duck Hunt, Zelda and the original Mario Brothers} and just relaxing. Then I am off for another four days of continuous excitement A.K.A work. Living the dream people, living the dream!

Here I am (in a total disco diva state) immediately following my mishap with the spray paint. It's an absolute miracle that you are unable to see the gold flecks all over my neck and face. MIRACLE I tell you. I'll try my hardest not neglect everyone until my next day off (October 15th), but if I fail miserably:

Hope your week/weekend/next week
is & was glamorous as ever!
