DIY: how to dress summertime chic pt. 2

Let's talk about effortless chic, shall we? When I think of effortless chic I immediately think of Free People. Please familiarize yourself with the brand, if you are unaware of it's existence. I love Free People, without an hesitation, it's my favorite brand of all time. Free People epitomizes boho chic.

So, today's lesson is: how to dress summertime chic. Find a versatile piece of clothing that will be a "must have" for your closet.

Love at first sight. I am a massive fan of the color yellow. I think it looks fabulous on everyone and recommend you buy a few yellow pieces. The best part about this dress is that it serves as either a dress or a skirt. So, when I say: find a versatile item....well, here it is. Throw on some cute flip-flops and you are ready to go. It's very beach-like, and I love beachy things!
Wear white, and wear it well.
I love the color white also. White walls, white sheets, white dresses, white shorts...you get it! I just like the clean look, and you truly get that look by wearing something white(like the dress above). The details on this dress are beautiful, and did I mention how reasonably priced it is?

Flower details are perfect.
I love wearing hats(especially since I have been having some horrible hair days). This crocheted number is actually sitting in my closet. The flower detail on the side is just enough "pop" for anyone. I love flowers and floral print anything, so of course, this is on my list of musts.

Rompers are ideal.
I know some of you may be a little reluctant of these rompers, but they are in. They are cute too. I love the color of this one because it doesn't remind me of lingerie. The fitted bodice and breezy shorts are fabulous. I must buy this one and rock it out on the mean streets of Florida. LOL.

Distressed denim and drapey tops.
I love distressed denim, and I know I have mentioned it so many times before, but I love it. I am also a huge fan of drapey tops. This henley one is perfect for summertime. I would probably pair it up with some white shorts and silver flip-flops. Maybe a ponytail too, a big poofy ponytail.
I am always all about dressing effortless, and I know most of my friends are too. I love finding key items that you must buy and wear. Boho chic is my choice of style, and now that it's summertime...I love to incorporate the beachy vibe too.

I simply adore distressed denim. I have a pair of Joe's Jeans that are perfect. I rock it year round though!!

All colours can look great on anyone.. it just depends on the shade or tone :)

I know the pale yellows that would look gorgeous on you, would make me look strange..

I like the really bright kind of jewel tones like topaz.. or citrine :)

And I am secretly wanting a pair of ripped, distressed jeans..

I personally think yellow looks stunning on everyone too.

Congrats on the nod on IFB again.
Your blog is super cute. I'll be back quite often.

I want a pair of ripped/distressed jeans so bad.
Can you possibly find some cute ones and post about it?

Jeanette...

I will do a post about distressed denim, just for you.
I have been noticed that distressed denim seems to be the "it" thing of the moment.

I love me some distressed denim.
